JDOG,

One of the problems with 427's is that they are already bored out close to the maximum possible. When you need to bore a 427, you have to bore it in .003" increments, not the normal .010". I hate to tell you, but it is impossible to bore any Ford 427 cast iron block .030".

The stroker kit is a different story. A good way to stroke a 427 is to put in a 428 crank/pulley/flywheel in. A 428 crank stroke is .200" more than a 427 stroke.

I disagree, I have seen 427 go .040 but you must sonic check it first!

Thats what I've heard to Mike, .030+ certainly possible WITH the right block. Not all would go that far is what I've heard. Mine is .012 over (by the way).

Cool TOO HOT!

I went to see my engine builder today and he has "Guaranteed" that I will "Never" have a heat problem with this engine.
Today, I gave him, the rest of the $$ to finish out my engine. Today I saw a pile of parts, and in 2 weeks they will be, one.
To see my block all cleaned up, machined, and with a fresh coat of black paint, oh my! Damn, those cylinders are BIG!
He showed me the porting job on the heads, and other machining that he has done. Then explaned what all this would mean after he put it together! 600/600 Guaranteed! This stuff is better than sex, I had a woody the whole time!
I need a cigarette!

jdog

P.S. Be Cool!
