I see one clean head, one clean crank and one set of rockers that aren't rusted. There maybe some jems in there among rest but most seems to have years of rust. Those crank and rod bearing surfaces can only be cleaned up so far. The blocks may be fine since they can be resleaved but for $25K that a lot to sort through not to mention the cost of having them cleaned and checked. The big money to be had is in the blocks and some of the intakes. I wonder how many are actually 427 parts?

I agree... wish I could get an inventory of the blocks and other parts. $25K seems kinda steep for so much rust, but the right person could make some $ off the lot.

But I wonder what's behind the plastic bag with the Edelbrock timing chain cover and front motor mount plate showing. I only saw one 427 block and one steel crank. Some highriser heads and some cool intakes. Lots of boxes with misc stuff too. And the shelves of heads is cool. Has to be 50+ sets there easy. You would really have to take a good look to see if it's worth it though......G

What a nightmare sorting it out and worrying about how to break even on your investment. Figure another few thousand to move it, not to mention the cost of the lawyer you gonna need when you drag that stuff home to the missus.

That is a gold mine. Any one got 25K I can borrow? I'll pay you back tomorrow.

I don't think anything except the stuff that's in plastic would be any count....every block I saw with the exception of the one in plastic was probably too badly rusted and pitted to do any good with it.

25K is too much for the lot. Suppose you got 25000 items, you would have to sell each for a dollar to recoup the auction cost.
I estimate about a month of work to pack ( done correctly so you do not damage ), that's four guys cataloguing and packing. Then, it looks like about two semis worth the weight.
I suspect you are looking at an additional $16,000.00 to catalogue, tag, inventory and ship the lot. Then,,,,,, where do you put it all?
I think the best thing this guy could do is hire someone to place each item on ebay and liguidate as a dollar bid.
A person that knew how to place the adds and offer the right combinations, could probably turn this mountain of rust into a mound of gold.
Just my $0.02. $25,000 is too much for that pile of rust.

Boy, am I surprised!!
Gee,

Those blocks look like they'll clean up fine.

I agree with Mr. Fixit - this stuff will clean up fine - a bit of time in the dunk tank at the machine shop and good as new. Don't let the rusty look deceive you - this is a likely gold mine here.
As for value? - well, here is ONE set of heads that sold yesterday, so figure from there....

I have heard of many places that leave the blocks outside to 'season'. As long as they are healthy they should be fine. Who knows what's cracked and what isn't.
