EFI - Distributorless Ignition
Who here is using a distributorless ignition (coil packs)?
I am looking for someone who produces a distributor plug that runs the oil pump (and possiby serves as a cam sensor). Does anyone make such a thing before I begin butchering my MSD Distributor?

I looked and never found one. MSD makes one for the SBF as a part of their DIS system, but even that is difficult to find info on. That maybe a place to look to modify a piece for the FE. Gessford has a ready made crank trigger that is also something difficult to find for a FE. There are universal triggers though that seem to only need a custom bracket. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.

Thanks,
I have already installed the MSD Crank Trigger (they now make one for the FE) but seem to hit a wall when looking for the cam sensor and plug.
I will keep you informed.

Call FPP's Ron Miller.
He knows a guy in Arizona who can make one for you.
Here's what you tell Ron:
"I have a Mickey Thompson FE crossram. I need an extension for the distributor drive."
When you get the guy's number, I lost it, you just tell him what you need and he'll send it to you. A hundred bucks if I remember right. Just tell him what you want: a stub drive for the distributor hole to drive the oil pump.
Dropped right in, no problems.
Your other option is an external oil pump, MOPAR hemis have several versions available for them that can be fairly easily adapted to the FE...this is for an external oil pump, not a dry sump system.

James
I'm searching for a dual sync distributor for an Fe like they have for a SBF or Ford 429/460. This distributor eliminates the need for a crank triggger. Accel sells dual sync distributor for SBF and BBF except for the FE series. I have MSD crank trigger and I could modify my MSD distributor to use as cam sync by locking out the mechnical advance and griding off all but one tooth from the reluctor.

Hi George
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
How much for your Electromotive crank trigger and Probe adapter bracket?

My part looked like the bottom piece in Mr. Gessford's first picture.
It was slightly shorter at the top due to my hold-down issues (discussed and got produced a set-screw setup).
From the time I got the phone number, including a little phone tag (he worked days), and sending him a check, it took 10 days to get the finished part. Again, it dropped right in and is working fine. $100.
By the way, if anyone actually needs the distributor extension drive for a M/T crossram, he quoted me $175 if I provided the distributor. He'd probably be open to other customizations needed.
