I know a lot of guys with 514's (and a couple with 392's) that wish their engines came with that warranty.

It's good to see Ford stepping up with a warranty -albeit "limited". At least it's something.

Default Looked at the offerings in the Ford racing crate engines....

..it was interesting to see that the humongous 514 unit weighs in at 543 lbs. Just for the interest of comparisons---what does my 351 Clevlenad weigh? What additionally, does a 393 stroker weigh? If anyone can roll these data out, I'd appreciate it. The Ford Racing catalog does not show the comparative weights of the small-blocks--or at least I didn't see them!

Burgs...those pictures of the assembled engine on the crate are of my engine...thanks! I didn't even know about them. So I assume the bare block is probably mine, too. Never knew what it looked like since I bought the engine assembled. Thanks!

Burgs,
Have you seen a Hurricane finished in paint yet? A friend ordered one too a few weeks back, but never could obtain any pictures of a completed car from them. He's keeping his fingers crossed. Got any pictures to pass along?

decooney,

The first one has not been delivered yet. I think at the end of January they will start to make deliveries. I do understand that the new bodies came out even better than expected, and will be easier for the body man, (not me!), to get ready for paint. When is your friend's car scheduled to be finished? I delayed mine until mid March, to try to get a garage addition done. Hurricane called me to make sure that was still my plan, before they scheduled another car before mine. Thank's for asking, I said, but go for it!

Default Motorsport 427

Genesis 427 in motorsport catalog 2 year 24000 mile warranty no price yet. The motorsport dealer called while I was in his store. The guy at motorsport told him that an all aluminum engine was going to be in the $15K range and that they will be offering a two four version as well. My freind was going call me when the guy from Motorsport called him back with more info.

Called the Ford Tech line today to check up on availability of 427 blocks. Was told that Ford motor sports dealers will never show any availability in warehouse as blocks are dropped shipped directly from Genesis. I asked tech what the difference would be between ordering from Ford and ordering direct from Genesis. Did not receive any answer. Tech did say that Ford is simply marketing blocks for Genesis as a "favor". Interesting........

I'm still going to get one. Just not certain there is any real benefit to going through Ford as I may have believed earlier.

Freind at Motorsport dealer told me that the Crate motors they order from Motorsport do not come from Motorsport.
Is Motorsport just a front for a hotbed of illegal horsepower activities? I think we need a senate probe into their orginization.
Somebody call John Kerry!!!!!He doesn't have anything to do right now!
