I am new to the forum, and researching different manufacturers, I live in Florida and am about two hours away from Hunter Cars. I like the Corvette suspension setup, are there any owners with any info to share?

I have a Hunter 427 and I can say it is very nice. Randy Hunter is very easy to deal with and honest. The vette susp really handles well and rides well also. Email me for any questions. chuck

Hunter does make a nice car and those other guys (GM) have had enough time to make the vette handle and perform like a dream, then remove 50% of the weight for the E ticket ride. The supply of aftermarket suspension upgrades is unlimited and because production numbers are so high the pricing is CHEAP!

You Might as well just do a '66 vette. They are a great looking car. '68 -'82 vettes weren't the best for traction. The '83 and newer are better. I would really think about what you want. If you want a vette with Shelbys name he did one before he made the Cobra. He Re- bodied a vette in aluminum with a totally different look. Nice looking body was done to lighten car for racing. Chevy scrapped the project and left Shelby hanging.
Look on his web site. I think that is where I saw the car.

Hey Tony,
I agree the 66 is a good looking car but my all time vette favorite is still the 63. You mentioned traction was not great on the 3rd generation cars but not sure I agree with you 100%. After the weight loss program that drops finished curb weight into the 2400 pound range and spring/suspension changes it comes back to the tires limiting traction. The IRS rear is not the best choice for drag racing but with bolt on suspension upgrades becomes a great overall design.
The 1984 to 96 or 4th generation corvette suspension is an improved design over the earlier cars but aftermarket C3 parts are not only reasonably priced but outperform stock C4's.
Shelby did pitch his dream to GM and was turned down for fear of conflicting with the Vette's very profitable market share for GM. Think somebody is looking back and saying... Damn--- woulda, coulda, shoulda! Who knows what would have happened but the competition and maybe the (I'll show you ) history is fantastic as is.
