Coil Comparision
I am thinking about replacing my coil with the MSD 8207 and I am not sure how to compare it with my old coil.
Here are some variables:
MSD 8207 / Blaster 8205
Max Voltage 40,000 volts / 45,000 volts
Turns Ratio 70:1 / 100 : 1
Prim Resistance .355 ohms / .700 ohms
Secondary Resis .4.40K ohms / 4.70 K ohms
Inductance 6.9 mH / 8.0 mH
Peak Current 300 mH / 140 mH
Spark Duration 220 uS / 350 u
I don't have a clue what these comparisons mean but I do know that I want a hotter spark for better combustability.
