Default 427 - Rocker problem

I have a 1967 427 side oiler w/solid lifters. Has any body that has upgraded to a roller have the old rocker arms in a box collecting dust on a shelf they want to get rid of. The adjusting screws are real loose and I can't keep any tolorance. I would like to keep the engine stock. If there is a fix for my problem with what I have that would be great also.
The rocker arm has the number 5750083 on them.

Check with Dennis at dcsmotorsport.com. He has .003 oversize adjusters to fix that problem.

NAPA also sells the std and oversize adjusters. With that said you might run into a problem with the .003 adjusters. I found mine to be to tight to go in without starting to crossthread. Needed to .002 oversize the rockers to get the .003 adjusters in. Some guys can just replace the worn ones with a new std size. Depends how worn yours are now. They used to sell a .002 adjuster but is no longer listed. A nice option is to install Crane adjusters. They come with a locknut and think they are $69 for all 16. Retaping the rockers for the Crane adjusters is needed to install being a different thread size. P.S sometimes it takes Dennis a while to email back. Happens to me also. G.

DSC also sells new stock replacement rockers. Then you will not have to modify anything.

I do have a full OEM rocker assmbly sitting in my garage after updating to a Dove system but I don't think it will be practical to ship them to you from here in the UK

As cobred said though, DSC has them for a reasonable price

How do you like the Dove setup? What cam did you go with?
I realy want to keep the engine stock, I will most likly pull the engine this winter. In 30 - 35 years it will be worth $12.00 or
$15.00 US more. Better than the bank I'm at! Stock 427 in a Midstates Cobra to me is the best...............A real Cobra
would be the Bomb. Next Life. Thanks Paul and every body,

There's always one or two pairs on Ebay. Going for $125.00 - $150.00 est.
I have a pair with stands, rockers, shafts and springs. All clean. Adjusters are nice and tight. # on rocker is 5750083. I haven't checked all the #'s on all rockers.
#'s on stands are C4AE6531C , C2AE6531A.
I will get everything out of storage and check tomorrrow, to refresh my memory.
I'm going to Comp Cam roller rockers.

Shipping costs are something I'm getting really used to now
I'ts not uncommon for something I've ordered from George or David to cost more in shipping and taxes than the original cost of the item

The engine has only been rebuilt and back in the car for a short while and I'm still taking it steady (Not going above 3000rpm at the moment) but it all seems to be working fine. Lots less sound from the engine (IE the tappets are not as loud )
At the same time I put the dove setup in I put in a comp cams grind 282s solid lifter. Also re-bored the cylinders and added new pistons, re-ground the crank, skimmed and lightened the fly-wheel, then had the turning assembly balanced.
I thought I'd re-build the gearbox (Toploader CR) and replace the clutch at the same time

Some bstrd nicked the shifter handle while it was at my friends workshop (He has all the engine hoists etc) So I've had to order a new one of them as well from David (TL shifter handles with reverse lockout arn't cheap )

Oh well. Got there eventually!

Hey guys, I'm still looking for a bargin. In the mean time I ordered some Crane Rockers # 270-69772-16 from Jeg's 1.76 ratio. They should work for now. Thanks for the help.
