Default Coil Mount

I want to mount a MSD blaster 2 coil on my FE block, does anyone make a bracket for this application and do I need an expoxy filled coil.
I would like to come up with a newer polished original expanison tank, March pulleys and polished or jet coated Alternator brackets.
Can anyone recommend sources for these parts?

Superformance makes a beautiful polished stainless exp. tank for the FE in a SPF. The March FE pulleys are available from Summit and a nice polished stainless FE alternator bracket set is available from a company called C.R.A.P. (yeah, I know...) do a search for their website.
I usually don't like mounting the coil on the engine, too much heat and vibration. Also, when mounting an oil-filled coil, make sure to mount the wire end of the coil facing straight up. The oil completely surrounds the windings this way and the coil will last longer.

Ever thought of remote mounting the coil like on the fender well? A couple of friends of mine that race Formula Fords have their coils mounted off the block due to expierencing coil failure at speed do to vibration and heat. Now they are mounted close to the engine intake scoop to take advantage of fresh air over the coil.

Mount the coil vertically or at least with the positive terminal at the uppermost point.

Heat and vibration will kill a coil faster than anything

I just got an expansion (Ford calls them "supply") tank on e-bay for considerably less than anywhere else I looked and then had it chromed. Make sure you pressure test it first. The chrome, while not original in appearance, looks great.

I am using a Ford Motorsports coil bracket. The bracket is chrome and it is mounted with 1 bolt. The bracket is slightly oversized for a MSD coil so I have a piece of bicycle inner tube between the coil and the bracket. You can not see the inner tube. With 1 bolt mounting, the bracket can be bolted onto the front of an Edelbrock FE head.

As SFfiredog pointed out earlier, the SPF polished stainless steel expansion tank is both gorgeous and stout, although pricey.

The March pulleys and aluminum alternator brackets can be purchased from any of the FE advertisers here on CC:

Good luck,
