wanted: 427 Original style fuel filter
Does anyone have one for sale or knows where I can buy one.
I want the bracket and filter. It's the one that bolts on the head.
Thanks
Tony

Those things go for big bucks, I watch them all the time. Every one usually sells in the 100-200 dollar range.

fuel filter bracket
I have an original NOS Bracket with the Ford part number on it. If anyone is interested please email me. The brackets are much harder to find than the canisters. Although between $150.00 and $250.00 is more realistic.

Canisters
There were two differant sizes on the fittings on the canisters. They had a BT part number with the 5/16th fitting an a BQ part number with the 3/8s fitting. Correct is the 3/8's but a tad more in price. So if an aution shows one without the box and part number be sure and ask the seller what size the fittings are if he knows. Galaxies and HiPo's naturally used the bigger fitting.

Does anyone make a after market one? I don't need the part # I just like the look.
The person bidding on it needs it bad I just ran it up to two hundred and he's willing to pay more than that.
I don't want to put a hurting on someone who needs it for an original Galaxie build. I lucked out on My surge tank when I bought a 64 T-bird Parts car for a $100.00. Old Junk Yards are getting scarce around here.
I don't need it I just like the look of it. I had one on my Galaxie with the 2x4v set up and I think it looks cool. I just need to figure out how cool of a price tag I want to put on it.

Tony at one time there were some repops made. They suffered in quality and some leaked badly. Finishline was selling them at one time. The one in the auction also has the mounting bracket. I'd suspect it might go close to $300 maybe more. The ones I've seen for just the fuel canister and been around $200-250 for NOS to nice used. Sal brought up a very good point about the different fuel line fitting sizes. Also I've seen some repops that host a slip on hose not the threaded fitting. Stay away from those. G.

Just a thought off the top of my head....
How hard would it be to make the bracket yourself. If you really want it and looking on the cheap.....

Something looks fishy with that auction. The high bidder has zero feedback and a member since April 05. To me it looks like shill bidding being he had bid it up on every one elses bid. G.

The nerve of that guy!
I don't know what I'm doing. sssnakeplissken looks like he is building a Cobra. Checked his buying record.
Maybe I want that stupid filter and bracket more than I think.
I can't stop bidding on it.
Never bought anything on Ebay before but I have looked at some stuff.
It will be a whole lot easier to install with the Cobra body off the chassie and at the paint shop.
I'll check it one more time before I go to sleep. "And may the chips fall where they may".

Happy Birthday to myself!
Thanks ERA Tom. I can't believe I won the darn thing.
I have it now, I guess my last bid did it.
Mixed feelings but I'll be happy that I got it later.
Thanks to all that responded to my post.

You know I never even noticed that LOL Well now you have made your first purchase and congrats. Sorry it looked like shill bidding at first. I've had that happen a few times to me. Hey good luck with the filter assy. $260 is a pretty good deal with the bracket and all.

Hey Tony,
Looks like you and I were after the same fuel filter and bracket on Ebay. I really do need one, I wasn't just bidding up the price.
You won fair and square! But, I wasn't close to my computer at the auction closing time or it might have had a different outcome.
Sorry to be bidding against another Cobra builder.
I'll keep looking.

Plissken,
I Couldn't believe I won. I figured you would out bid me because I had to get up early this morning and went to bed at 10:30.
I'm glad I got it, Sorry you have to keep looking.
That's my engine on the avatar and as you can see the fuel filter is missing.
I checked your purchases and figured out you were building a Cobra. And it looks like your doing an accurate one.
The shill scare made me look and then I figured out that FFR428 was talking about me.
Loved Escape from NY. Great name for a Cobra owner.

Fuel Filter update
Just thought I would give you a finish to the story. Filter and bracket have been cleaned, painted, and installed.
Thanks to all for the help.
