Insurance needed
Need Insurance. I'm paying 1,500.00 a year to State Farm for my Lone Star Replica. Does anybody have a suggestion of who to call.

Might have something to do with where you live too, ida no.
I can tell you that in spite of being 40 yrs old, single, in a moderately large city (but with a good driving record and 5 other cars insured with them) State Farm gets a small small fraction of that to insure my Cobra.

Me, State Farm, 50K agreed upon value, no restrictions $96 a half.... with no other insurance carried by State Farm. Just for fun, I called a few other State Farm agents for a qoute. The closest was more then three times the amount. You need to find the right agent that knows what they are talking about. Do try the agencies some one listed above. The year the car is titled seems to some times effect the price as well.

Infletcher's first link is the best deal in town. This outfits outstanding. You will have to settle on an "agreed" value to the car but the restrictions are minimal with pleasure driving allowed. I just got my bill and haven't opened it but it's usually around $380 per year. I've had them for 3 years. I researched over a dozen of these outfits and most of them are nuts. By the time you get past the exclusions; you can't drive the car. Although I have at laround $50k in the car since I first signed on, I think we agreed at $35k at the time because it was manufactured in 1979. Frankly; the freedom to use the vehicle was more important to me and my liability is $100/300k because it has to match the coverage of my family vehicles. I sent them CD pictures and a verbal agreement was confirmed in writing.

I have Statefarm with an agreed value and no driving restriction and it's just under $1000 per year.

Ins.
rdorman,
Your agent, what did he/her wright it under?
Is there a Statefarm number or a code the policy
is listed under? Where in his/her books did they find
your perticular policy? $200 a year, no restriction and
$50k agreed sounds good. Agreed value bothers me a
bit, I would try accual value.

It is written under there classic car coverage. Agreed upon value is what you want. Actual value coverage will involve depreciation at the time of loss. This gets and adjuster involved and they can make the determination of the value of the car post loss. Not generally a good thing. Agreed upon value they just say 'totaled' and write you a check... in my case for $50,000. 250/500 deductables.
