Default Fired it off today!!

Damn, she sure sounds nasty..

The Pond 482" S/O made her debut this afternoon. She was accompanied by a host of other "go fast" goodies.. Flywheel horse power should be around 650+hp 650tq. The chassis dyno will tell the real deal though.

I did several heat cycled runs and there are no drips of any kind. Oil remains clear and untainted. Everything points towards a successful initial break-in. I'll go back and readjust the valves later this week or this coming weekend. After the valve adjust it's off to the tuner for some chassis tune 'n dyno time.

You're gonna like that motor,...

What kind of gear box, and rear gear, are you running?

What about the rear end gear ratio? Just curious because I think I know what you're in for!

That was the reason for my interest. I have nearly the same set up with the exception of the aluminum flywheel, and my rear gear is 3.50:1 I have a hole between 60 and 70 mph where the cam is not happy. It's not bad, but it's there. In Michigan, most highways are 70mph and 10 over is usually overlooked, so on the highway I will be fine, but the 55 mph two laners out in the country will be a fourth gear drive. I think his 3.73 will be perfect for the fifth gear OD.

Congratulations, Brad

I have the same trans. od in my Kirkham and a 3.42 rear, works great and I think with your slightly lower rear end, yours will be great.
