Default 427 side oiler casting ID ??

I have access to a 1968 427 side oiler block . My delima is that there are no casting #'s such as the normal C8 .... ? The block is the hydraulic lifter version and it is date coded 8D9 , April 9 , 1968 . Obviously a crossbolt and side oiling system . It has no ribs common to the sevice blocks . It is standard bore and may stay that way . It has the clover leaf or square cast bores . I thought to have read that some original side oilers had no casting #'s ? , Besides the marine blocks . I am told this possibly came from a cougar eliminator .

How can I tell if this is indeed a original ? Not service or marine ? Come on FE Experts , Please help me out . It is expensive and I need to be sure .

Also looking for a set of unmolested 427 medium riser cast iron heads .

Original to what?
How expensive?
I have a brand new block (nos) just like that and I have always assumed it was a service block.
Finding a good sideoiler block with no casting #'s is no dilemma if it is going in a replica!
Just keep in mind you can buy brand new aluminum blocks from Pond or Genesis for under $5,000.
