lineslinger...you're welcome.

No problem with oil climbing up from the pan at all. Very little oil drops down from the separator...mostly vapor.

Just the rubber push in type. Those holes are threaded for AN fittings for a more elaborate system if ever I want to put one in (just seems too modern for me), so they grip really tight.

Yes that is me adjusting the wing......and those are some great shots of the car........ do you have one when we had it on jack stands...???

And the set up Jamo is using is what we were using on CSX 4303 ..... Red .....

And it had oil coming out of the breather on the passenger side .....so we took the cap off of the catch can and put scotch brite over the hole and cable tied...... and it reduced the amount of oil coming out of the breather....... on the passenger side....... because that cap on the catch can only has a small vent hole.....

If you run the motor up in the 6500-7000 rpm's ....it's just pushing to much air..... and Gateway on the oval is a different issue....

Here you go Morris, these are what I shot in the short time I was there. I don't plan on heading in to those RPM ranges any time soon, this whole FE game is still relatively new to me so I am still in the trial and error stage, doing my best to avoid the errors.
BTW if you are interested in any actual prints of your car PM me and I will see what I can come up with.





I stopped down on this one for more contrast, I like the way it come out more so than the others

I imagine the Gateway Oval could be tough, Mo ol buddy...but I didn't run into problems with anything coming out of the breathers running 6-7,000 on the FONTANA SUPERDUPERFREEKINGSPEEDWAY during SAAC in 2005.

Come on, I know it's not all modern and pretty, but it's assactly the way they did it on the originals running high engine speeds all damn day at the tracks, and for some doggone reason....it still works.

KISS...still a valid concept. NASA spent a bunch of money with Fisher to invent the Space Pen to work in zero gravity. The Russians used pencils.

Had similar problem.

Solved it with similar solution as Rick Lake. I still run filter down the back of the engine. There is still some moisture that comes out the back filter, but enough to cause any concern.

My solution was more than $12 only because I bought new valve covers.

Default Morris is using the nascar jack system

Lineslinger Professor Morris is using the nascar way, see the arrow on the side of the car pointing down, that's the jack mount. For a 1/4 of a zillion dollars, Morris car is prettier. My car may have been broken but didn't have to push start it. I did like the pyrotechnics. I sure that that problem was fixed. You took a picture of my butt working on the car. THANKS I have a kitchen to do, cobra away for the winter, yeah 64f outside and I was at work all day. Will see in the spring time which way I am going. May take the year off and build the other motor. Right now I am paying off the spring bill thanks to the professor. Hope you and the family have a good holiday Rick Lake. Next time comeup and say Hi. Bring the car next year.

That's a good point.....and I agree with the KISS.....method......

If it works don't change it....

And I'd love to run on the Fontana Oval...... once we get a few changes made.....

And we do use pencils all of the time.....ones with big erasers......

The flames were a added bonus ...just for my pals..... and thank god it fired when we pushed it or...... it might have been a different show.....

Glad to here things are settling down.... we have KMP 259 all apart again making changes..... hopefully for the better....

And yes let's test the springs ...next year......

Love the look! Is the hose plumbed straight into the manifold? If it is, I would think that it would cause the engine to see it as a vacuum leak. If the engine runs OK, great job!

Did you consider running it to the air cleaner?

Default Here is what I have been working on.

The oil separator tank mounted to the fire wall is stainless. Mostly scrap that I picked up along the way. Three different welders took part in this project at one point or another. The money was really in the MOON breather and the high nickel AN fittings and braided line that goes down to the oil pan. The Cobra should be ready to start this week. Just need to adjust the valves and drop the distributor in. Amazing how a little project eats up so much time.

Default Original style rear manifold breather PLUS BASKET

I'm running a 427 side oiler bored and stroked. I use an original style (Ford 1965) rear goseneck breather,but I also have the bottom portion hanging in the intake manifold. This is original Ford stuff again. Looks like a metal basket with open sides, with stainless steel wool stuffing it full. I understand the basket of steel wool captures the oil and allows it to drip back down without escaping the top of the breather. Also have a PVC valve in one valve cover (right side). I've never had an oil issue, either street driving or racing. Just do it the old fashion way - it works.
