Default Valve guides tolerance

I am in the process of getting rid of the high oil consumption of my 427 center oiler.Besides the high oil consumption and the blue smoke I always did find a small pond of oil in the intake valve runner.
I have removed the pistons, and although the rings look ok and the cylinder walls also, I am going to replace the piston rings.
I need all the help I can get to do the job right.
Please post your suggestions, thanks !
I also have checked the valves, which had been sealing ok, and had recently been fitted with new Crane teflon seals. Since I want to get the high oil consumption issue fixed once and for all I consider replacing the valve guides too.
But:
The tolerance should be 0.001 to 0.0024 in. for the intake and 0.002 to 0.0034 in for the exhaust valve according to Steva Christ in HPBooks "how to rebuild Big Block Ford Engines".
Is this tolerance correct also for manganese-bronze guides or are these tolerances for cast-iron guides ?
I am measuring with a dial indicator at the tip of the valve and wiggling the valve up and down. The tolerance seems to be within the limit with the guides clean of oil.
Are these guides ok or do I have to check something else.
Help from experienced builders are wellcome.
