Question How Much Mist/oil ??

How Much Mist/oil coming out of a 427 FE breather@ idle is considered "normal" ie: This breather:

When I shift at 7,000 rpm I tend to see some misting!!

If you have a PCV, you shouldn't see any.

Default I saw a lot more using that breather than

using the oil return can set up I currently have. Should have a PVC as well.

I have the same breather...614HP....no misting or any residue out of any of my breathers.

Was it broken in on a dyno? If not, your rings may not be seated just yet....you could give it some good hard driving time and see what comes of it. Otherwise, it may be wise to do a compression check (also read your plugs) and see if you have a ring that's not doing its job.

Ok thanks will try all above, also it was run on a dyno so i "assume" broken in.....

It probably depends on how much running it did. Some shops will fire the engine up and let it run with a load on it for 20-30 minutes then make 10-12 pulls on it.
