Curtis, CWizard

Thanks for the info. What was the PN you used through CarQuest. Either one of these? 95159SG, 95158SG

I tried using both these PN on the CarQuest website but they are no good.

Do the NitroSeals have the silicone beads around the ports like the PrintOSeals? Or are they just steel core regular style gaskets? If so, I'd just use another set of PermaTorques.

A Graphite facing material that is clinched to a perforated steel core, this offers superior heat resistance of up to 1,800°F while also maintaining excellent conformability. Found in head gasket, intake gasket and exhaust manifold applications, it can take the heat of a high performing engine

Morgan,

My apologies!

I mis-typed in my message above. I said Nitroseal when it was actually Printoseal

I have edited that message.

I was trying to help a friend with a cackle car and must have had nitro on the brain...

Sorry,

Tom

Sal,
I have used this stuff for years, British engines included and have never had a leak when applied properly regardless of the gasket manufacturer. It's called
Aviation Form a Gasket and Sealer

Sal if you have 67 or earlier heads yes use the LR size gasket. There is a recent post on FordFE.com and pictured was Felpro (or fall apart LOL) and VR gaskets placed on CJ and Edel heads for comparison. Pg 2 and some good info if interested.

Thanks Kev. That was a great post. The VR Nitroseals don't look like anything special over the Felpro PermaTorques (the blue Felpros) which I was already using. I had NO problems with the PermaTorques other than my end seal issue, and NOBODY in the area can get those VR gaskets, so I think I'll stick with the Permatorques.

Sal,

I highly recommend the Victor Reinz. If you need to special order them, special order them and wait. That is better than having to tear the entire top end off to replace another set.

Okay, I'll keeps searching for someone who has them.

Keep in mind I didn't have a problem with the PermaTorques, I was asking about better alternatives.

Check this web site for the victor reinz gaskets. I used them for my intake on my 514. No more leaks. Also, another good trick is to cut pieces of threaded rod and place them in the heads that have the holes that are straight up. Thread those in and set the manifold in place. Then you don't have to worry about being off to one side or the other. Then start putting in the other bolts. Once you have done that, remove the threaded rod and replace them with the regular bolts. Make sure you cut the threaded rod long enough so they stick out so you can remove them once the manifold is in place. I didn't use the end gaskets either as mentioned above.

If you go to there website and punch in your zip they will list store that have them. Do you have Kragen in NY? Also should be available on the web. Might try Summit racing.

Well, I am just going with another set of PermaTorques. They were fine anyway, not like the crap PrintOSeals.

I just can't get those Victors. Been trying for days now. Napa no longer carries Victor, no good at Summit or Jegs, or anywhere else. It seems that Car Quest has the lock on Victor now, and all the local Car Quest dealers are telling me 7-10 days on special order and I'm trying to get the car back up and running for this weekend.
