Yes they hit in a shelby motor
wrench 87 Yes they hit in a shelby motor with studs. I machined the supports to clear the nuts and trimmed .150" off the stubs to clear. Other than this the system works good. I run an .080 oriface in each oil supply port to the heads. no problem of blueing at this time. A couple of guys have gone to using hydro roller lifters with the oiling coming through the pushrods to help keep the end of the pushrod and adjuster end from blueing. I think this happens with strong valve springs and high lift cam shaft. I am running the 587-607 cam. I also have beehive springs on the heads and not the shelby ones that came with the heads. Less wieght on the valve train means better control. Less bouncing off the valve seat. More HP and rpm to work with before valve float or hydro lifter pump up. I max the rpm limit to 6,200 after breakin of this motor. A 482 motor is large for this cam, but a 427-452 motor will make this a nice torker motor. Rick L.
