Default FE fuel log pictures needed

Anybody have pictures of the right side of their engine showing the fuel lines and stock type fuel log set up for a single 4 barrel Holley? Also, where can I buy the log, I can only find the 2x4 and the 3x2 so far. Thanks .

Don't think anyone makes the 1x4 log, I have never been able to find one. Mine came off an original car. Check out my pics on CSXinfo.net (link in my sig).

Hi,

I have one on my FE. I can't remember right now where I got it, but it was recently purchased. I'll look tomorrow and let you know where to order it.

I would be interested in one too, I figured it would end up having to be one of the many parts I would have to fabricate...
The fuel line will be coming up from the mechanical pump to a cannister style fe fuel filter and will enter fuel log from the front. Was planning on putting a fuel pressure guage on the back side...

John's looks llike the one on a 2-4 set -up. I wonder if they are the same? I'm going to the shop in a few minutes and will measure the nipples on the 2-4 log and compare it to the spacing on one of the dual feeds. Unless you want an "era correct one" there are several aftermarket aluminum ones available.

Thanks, I just emailed the ebay seller to ask. Dearborn Tubing has them, a little pricy at $125 but at least there are options.

Those with more info can correct me, but I think that is the same as the 2-4 log. Although the picture isn't straight on, the nipple placement on that log appears to be exactly the same location as the 2-4 one. The nipple centerline on the 2-4 log is 8 5/8"(app), the slight angle that the hoses appear to be at in the pic would easily spread it to the 9 1/2"(app) distance between dual feed entrances. It also makes since that they would use the same log instead of a special built one, especially on such low volume engines.

I think on the 2X4 log, with the carbs oriented backwards, the front fuel nipple is kind of in the middle of the log, to feed the front of the front carb, instead of the one I have, where the front nipple is near the front support to feed the front of the single carb.

The nipples on the 2-4 one are just forward of the second and fourth ports just as they appear in the pic that's posted. Unless there is a measurement that is different, by a considerable amount, than the 8 5/8" on the 2-4 one....they would almost have to be the same. The supports and nipples are in the same area as the pic. It makes little sense that they would produce 2 when the rubber hoses would have corrected any minor variation. I'll get my old Ford parts book out from 1964 and see what they list.

The 1x4 and 2x4 are not the same. The nipple locations are different. If you're not using a Turkey pan, than you could use the 2x4 log. But if you are using a pan, you need the proper 1x4 log if you want the fuel lines to line up with the inlet holes in the pan.

Here's an original 1x4 log on my motor...

DOH!!! I re-examined the 2-4 log and realized that I had it setting on the next 2 intake bolts forward, they lined up,when they are on the correct bolts they set back more. I don't have the oil fill tube in it, so it went forward. If the fill tube was installed it would have hit that and not been able to locate forward, as I had it. It would be interesting to know the measurement between the nipples on the single 4 barrel. The log is also shorter overall or it wouldn't clear the fill tube. That's what happens when you don't make sure the parts are setting in their correct spot.

I purchased a 1-4V version from Motorsports International. I'm still looking for a fuel line from the filter cannister to the log. The fuel line I bought does not fit the log. The log needs to be about 3" closer to the front of the intake for the line to mate with the 45 degree fitting on the log.

Power Surge, Anthony
Can you post pics of the fuel line you used from the filter housing to the log? I bought one of the polished stainless steel tubing kits from Dearborn Classics to fit a Galaxie or Fairlane, and it doesn't fit. I need either a different line or a different log. Where did you get yours?

The standard side hung float carbs like on dual quads are about 9 inches
Regular center pivot floats are 9 3/8
LeMans float bowl inlets are right at 12 inches

I ran my own fuel line to the log, Aeroquip 8-AN. I have two 6-AN lines coming from the tank, joining to form one 8-AN line which goes to a high flow filter, and then to the log. I drilled out the ends of my log, and re-tapped them for 3/8's NPT, over the 1/4"NPT that it came with, as I decided to run 8-AN line to the fuel log.
