Got the engine mounts from Tim G. I think they are Anchor. I can't seem to find this bolt ring for the flywheel...because I don't know what it is called or where to get it!

If you don't find it, don't sweat it. The ARP bolts have a huge head on them. Also, the Anchor mounts are rubber, I'd go with a rubber trans mount.

I will call Fidanza in the morning to see if the bolt ring in necessary.
What are the torque specs for the flywheel and the pressure plate? Is there a link with those numbers?

I used an aluminum Fidanza wheel on my 428FE....I didn't use a ring.
Did you buy ARP fasteners? The specs will be on the box.

blykins,
I just saw on Muscle Car's website a Fidanza alum FW with no bolt ring. I'm thinking it won't be necessary with the ARP bolts. I will consult with Fidanza about that tomorrow.

I'm sure you'll be fine without it. Your torque specs sound close....I was thinking 65/25...but like I said, the specs will be on the package.
Do you have a new set of muffler bearings?

Hey Brent,
It sounds like High-Tech is about to pull his hair out and you're messing with him about muffler bearings..........You should be ashamed ! I'm sure he keeps spare muffler bearings in the same drawer as his left-handed adjustable wrenches.........

The most important stuff!!!!
hi tech cobra The most important thing is Beer, Coke Cola, and steaks. They get the reward after the job is done. You may want to add bolts to the motor mounts if they are rubber. This will stop them from splitting under hard driving and still gives the frame isolation from the motor vibs. If the frame is painted you might want to tape and paper off the rest from burn spots when welding. A electric level will help with the perfect leveling of the mounts. This is up to you guys but some of the cobras have the motor sitting 1" to the right for balance of the car. I think you have the rest covered. Good luck, get a couple of pictures. I hoping you are going to have the car on jack stands, try and have the frame level as possible, this make the whole job easier. Rick L

Reason: Forgot Wet towels when welding helps save the paint from bubbling off the frame

New iStart from Apple!
blykins,
I have the muffler bearings, man were they hard to find. Finally found them at a garage sale late last night...guy said they were brand new and fit my application. He seemed to know what he was talking about so I picked up a couple extras. Let me know if you need some.
I also decided to go with the new iStart from Apple. It does everything an iPhone does, play your favorite "Cars" tune, call your wife and tell her the motor only cost $5K, and download the latest Hooters girl calender.
Here's a pic!

High tech...65/25 if you torque 30lbs on the p/p plate you'll snap the bolts....snaped two yesterday not fun ...grade 8 bolts too...now I'm torqued at 25lbs no problems.
