Default Radiator Zinc Anode question

I have a 1/4 inch NPT anode that is about 1.5" long. I am unsure where to install this into the cooling system.

I have a Sleby alum FE and was wondering if I could screw in into the boss where the cooling petcock is on the side of the block. Not sure is it would be abstructive to the coolant flow there or not. Not sure if this site would allow for the anode to screw all the way in or would need to be cut down some. Not sure if this would create a hot spot in this location.

The other idea is to screw it into the radiator itself. I have a Superformance Cobra so I may have to remove the fans, shrould and perhaps the radiator itself to install the anode. I am not sure if the Superformance radiator even has a petcock as I have always removed the lower hose to change fluid.

Anyone have a Superformance radiator/Shelby FE alum block and anode in their system. The anode I have is made by Flex-a-lite.

Open to all feedback.

Thanks Ray

Don't have a Superformance, but mine is in the radiator drain petcock.

I wouldn't think the radiator petcock would be in a place that you couldn't remove it easily though.

I gave a brief quick look the other night and didn't see a petcock or port for one. Suprformance has a shroud that may be hiding what I an looking for. As I said I hate to pull the fans and shroud just to peek.
