Default Edelbrock FE timing cover

Is anyone familiar with an older (I'm assuming) Edelbrock alum timing cover for a FE? I'm watching one on ebay; cast alum that has been polished. Must have been made by Edelbrock some time back, can't find out any other relevant info. Anybody ever seen one? If you look at it on ebay, any ideas as to the cover intended to cover the end of the camshaft? for a cam button or ???

thanks!!

That is isntended to mount a mechanical fuel injection pump driven by the cam.

the link you posted doesn't seem to work but from what your describing it sounds like a cover for mechanical fuel injection the fuel pump was driven by the camshaft, hilborn made them, algon made them, to name a few. there is no cover to cover the hole, some were even machined flat on the face to use a motor plate.

Ooops, sorry the ebay link didn't work, I should've checked it &/or listed the ebay item number.

Anyway, Fred and Rick, thanks for the input; makes sense that it would be for a cam driven FI pump, which would've been used w/o a water pump on a drag strip car. Even if I were to make a cover plate for the hole over the cam, its probably not feasible for a street driven vehicle using a conventional water pump.

thanks again guys!

ebay item # is 230319860515.

I'd appreciate any thoughts if this cover could be used under a conventional Edel alum water pump if a blank cover was installed over the cam hole.

thanks!!

Are you wanting a stock FE cover ?
I have one if you need it.

It's a pain trying to get it centered so it does not leak. (Just thought I would throw that in).
