More fun doing it your self. Go for a used engine/block. Risky? Well of course, thats part of the adventure!

No offense Joe, but I thought he wanted to do the entire thing on his own.

I think Ernie's right...it is more fun to do the whole shootin match yourself.

But, if he wanted something that was almost done, yours would be the better choice.

Ernie, it has been a while.

i dont take offence at any thing life is to short
the 390 coming out of the machine shop is not assembled yet
it could be a do it your self without having to chase down any of the parts
it already has a 3.78 stroke crank H beam rods forged pistons
a good oil pan and pump not to mention a topend as yet to be decided
but is available with either c4ae heads or 406 heads
and at a price that is hard to beat

Pete, might also want to review the DMV inspection, registration and state EPA emissions requirements for kit cars/replicas in PA. Items such as having a Bill of Sale attesting to the year of the block/VIN of the vehicle the engine came from, any emissions testing is based upon the year of the engine block, or year of registration ? , etc .

Also, any pending legislation in PA on the above , probably considering the Cobra build would not be completed until a future year.

I will check on the registration. I don't think I need the bill of sale on the engine...just the mso, but I could be wrong. Where's Mr. Mustang? Isn't he the PA registration guru around here? Maybe he can straighten me out!

On a side note, has anyone put one of these in a B&B kit?

There is a B&B Cobra here locally that has a 390 in it. It's a very nice car and doesn't give up anything to the other Cobras.
