L-488 light question

I'm sure this is really simple, but since I tried without success to remove this light from my front fender, I thought I should just ask.

How does this thing come apart?

My car came to me with these mounted to the front fenders as turn signal/parking lights, and I need to get the lens off for wiring hook-up and body work. It looks like the rubber ring is screwed down to the fiberglass, and that the chrome ring and glass sorta "snap" on to something. Any hints?

to alan as far as i'm aware you turn the lense anticlockwise to remove it.

I tried the counter-clockwise suggestion without success, and decided to apply some more light and muscle to the task. The lens I have actually are retained by the rubber shroud , and just sorta peel away.

Very strange.
