Don,
Thanks pal, I ordered it from my local NAPA for $139. It will be here Friday. Now
I don't feel so bad now. I might just buy a second one just to have on hand.
I'll let you guys know how it goes when I get the new EEC.

I put in the new EEC today and it started right up. The
engine sounds great with a nice throttle response. I'm
not about to push that A/C on button though. At least not until
I figure out why it kills the engine when pushed. I've looked at
the schematics but I'm not good at figuring out those symbols
Anybody have an old EEC that doesn't work they would

Glad you got it fixed Hersh. Sorry I couldnt' have been more help but that was so far out of my comfort range and expertise that I would have only caused you more problems had I offered any advise.

By the way get all those gremlins worked out by June 2 and 3 because I have signed a contract to rent Hallet for that weekend and I want you there to put down some hot laps with the rest of us.

Clois,
Thanks for trying anyway. Any and all suggestions were
Welcome and appreciated. This place is a wealth of
information and most times you get what you need.

I want on the track so bad it hurts. I will do my best to try and
get there. The Texas Cobra Club will have a track day I'm sure
this coming March. I think Jay is running it at Harris Hill.
I believe it will be for the Wounded Warriors at Operation
Comfort which is a great thing. So how about you coming down
here for a go. I know Jay would love it.

Hersch

Question for you. I have a mass flo also so I have been following your challenges.

Seems that your ECU was bad and you replaced it with an off the shelf unit, correct?

What about the programming Mass Flo did on the original ECU? My understanding is that the ecus are not stock tune and Mass Flo does some tweaking.

Or am I wrong...which happens (too often)

Best

Jeff

Hi Jeff ,
I removed the cover from the replacement unit and the
Mass Flo unit. I removed the j3 chip from the Mass Flo an plugged
it into the new EEC unit. The J3 chip has all the programmed
Info in it. The chip in the EEC is not programmable but because it has
a J3 slot you can attach another chip onto this that by passes
The original chip. So to answer your question Mass Flo programs
their own chips then plugs it onto a rebuilt unit. They also put on a different
case cover so it can be universally mounted.
Have ever called them for any support? Can you tell me if you ever got
a reply from them? The only time they ever returned my call was when I was
Looking to buy. Now I get nothing.
I still have the a/c problem but the car does run good. I'm going to have a friend make a new harness. I think I have a polarity problem

I had a problem with a bad ground on my car that fried the MAF. I found Mass Flo very helpful to resolve. Admidtly they are a small shop and at times it will take several hours to get a response. Chris was very thorough. This was in May 2010 for reference.

Here's the contact information I have:

I sure hope they are still around.

Thanks for the explanation in the ECU - that was very helpful.

Let me know what you learn from them. jjgrice55@gmail.com

Happy Holidays

Pete,
That pot has been stirred so much I think the the
pot has a hole in it now. Besides it ain't the Cobra,
it's the GT with a 347 stroker I built. Funny thing
though, that little Smoky Yunick SBC still beats that Ford in a straight
line.

I've had a Mas-Flo on my 428 for 4 years (about 28K miles) and have been very happy with it.
The kit was very well thought out and complete and any problems I had, with one initial exception which was promptly addressed and rectified, could be traced back to something I did wrong or a part of the supplied instructions I failed to follow.
I've seen pros and cons about dealing with Chris but in my case the experiences have been positive.

That's good to hear Don. I'm not passing judgement now
but it has been a little agrivating trying to communicate with them.
I've been dealing with a guy named Sean T. He either misses
my emails and messages or ignores them. I'm going to try
and call the number Jeff gave me after the Holidays. It's a
different number than the one I have.

Hersh,

Have you got that thing fixed yet? I am expecting you and that grey GT 40 in Tulsa June 1-3.

Seriously, I hope all is working now.
