Inglese EZ-EFI setup
Is anyone running the new Inglese EZ-EFI setup? It looks like it just came out in November. Check it out HERE
Self learning EFI, no laptop needed to set it up. I think I'm going to buy this.

I noticed they use TWM throttle bodies with center fuel rails, that means it will be a cable throttle linkage your have to make up. Id prefer the 8 stack system with the weber look and again self learn.

Its a good set-up, there are a few guys on here that use it and seem to like it, call Blykins he knows everything about these FE engines. Brent Blykins, B2 motorsports.

Borla now owns TWM. And i does appear that Inglese purchases their throttle bodies from Borla. The computer system is off the shelf from FAST. Both TWM and FAST enjoy pretty good reputations.
It's not going to be as easy or as simple as they make it sound. Working with an 8 stack system can be tricky. And, AFAIK, there really isn't anything that is truly self tuning. The computer and software can get you pretty darned close. But you're going to have to do some tuning on your own. Which means you need a pretty fair grasp of what really makes an engine run.
It's not going to be a simple bolt on and go. But I think think it's something the average Cobra builder can do.
One of FAST's advertising points is that you don't need a lap top. I think that's a detriment. I would specifically avoid any system that couldn't use a lap top, and didn't have a full function software package for tuning.

I have a Imagine fuel injection system on my 428 FE engine.
It started with a Haltech programmable electronics which I never learned how to program. I had trouble finding a tuner that could actually work with it and most needed a dyno. We are snow birds in the winter so finding a tuner even became more of a problem. I have had the EZ system on the car for over a year now and it has been great. If you want to have the optimum performance from your injection system for racing and other special needs go with a programmable system, but learn to tune it yourself. If you want low maintenance and the 90% solution the EZ system will be fine. For my needs the self learning system has been great.

Thanks, It comes with two filter systems.
Though I'm not sure the the bottom set can actually be called filters. They will keep out small rocks or bolts

I bought the system and had a local engine builder install it while they were rebuilding my engine in 2007. I don't remember the cost then, but if you go to Imagine Injection - "Home of Quality High Performance Fuel Injection Systems" you can get Bob Ream's number and call him. He is close to you in Phoenix and is very helpful.

It is amazing the collection of small rocks i get in the crevices around the intake manifold: looks like someone threw a handful of gravel in the hood scoop!

The bottom set are commonly called "Tea Strainers", for obvious reasons. They will cost you 100hp. Yup, 100hp, proven on the dyno.

If the "tea strainers" cost you 100HP the air filters in the top picture must really cost big time.

Not necessarily, it has a lot to do with total surface area of which the “Tea Strainers" have very little.
The Tea Strainers also use a delicate foam material that melts when the carbs sneeze. You can see the melted areas in lamaluv's photo. In my case they robbed 80HP so needless to say I no longer use them.
But I think your EFI system looks great lamaluv....

The FAST 8- stack system comes with INGLESE 8- stack; the TB might be from Borla or others, but they do have the Inglese- name on them.
The EZ-EFI system might be good for those who do not want full tunability and no opportunity to log what's going on in the system. If you are up to some "real" performance, you'll ned the FAST XFI system.
The XFI system have alot of potential and gives the possibility to tune whatever your needs are. It is NOT very complicated either; easy to understand menues and nice software.
The EZ EFI do have som pitfalls (as do most systems!) so I advice you to read up at CPGNATION.COM It's a brilliant "tool" and gives alot of help.
If you choose an 8- stack system and if you want any other tuning strategies other than alpha-n (fuel VS tps) and want good driveabillity on the street, I suggest you choose to plumb the underside of the inlet (valley pan) with vacum lines to a MAP sensor. You can even double it and make a IAC motor connection to the TB's. (As I understand, it's not wise to plumb the IAC and MAP in same curcuit. But it should be possible to use the MAP curcuit for power brakes..(?))
I've installed FAST system with LSx- coils (distributorless) on my 347 stroker this winter, and got it running really well. With a setup like this, you could have the coils tucked away in the inner wings or frame on your Cobra.... Would be neat!
I'll do a write- up on the system soon.

lamaluv,
I think having view of the eight individual stacks looks the best. But the dual filter elements will provide the best engine longevity. But hey, many wish they had such problems.

Bob do you run yours without air filters?
I don't have mine running but hope to crank it latter in the summer.
I may have to run it without any air cleaner.
Dwight

air sensor
Bob do you think my air temp sensor is in the correct location? Or do I need to move it?

I run mine without filters only at the race track. The rest of the time I have some oval K&N filters. They cause a little bit of restriction, but less than the tea strainers do.
The SS mesh screen seems to work well in keeping the big bits out of the engine, and are said to not cause any restrictions at all - but I don't know that for sure.
At one time, I got the brillient idea to replaced the foam in the tea strainers with material cut from a flat K&N filter. The engine ate 3 of them, and I threw the rest out.
Dwight, you air temp senser looks just fine. For a while I had mine in the same place. Then I moved it to the spacer that's under the throttle body. I don't think it made any differance at all.
