Default Eec4 - a9l ecu

I'm a bit confused. As I understand it the A9L ECU was in Mustang GT manual transmission cars from 89-93. However when I ask for this ECU everyone asks for a part number and the part number does not have A9L in it. It sounds like there were many different part numbers that were all considered A9L, but I'm told all that matters is the A9L.

Anyone have a list of part numbers that are A9L?

Were there A9L ECUs that went into cars other than Mustang? Thunderbird for instance.

I called 16 salvage yards in my phone book and none had a 89-93 Mustang.

NAPA, Autozone, etc carry re-manufactured ECU, but I hear stories that they mix and match parts and often do not have the correct parameters loaded.

Any help would be appreciated.

Seems this has A9L on it, shouldn't be hard to find one:

Old Dog try asking on the FFR site. A lot of them use A9Ls. Maybe someone has a spare they would sell.
