Default help with fi on 5.0 in a ffr mkll

fired the car up last week and it ran fine. fired it up yesterday and moved it into the workshop for detailing. ran kinda funny like it was starving for fuel. today, it will crank fine, attempt to start but won't catch. pulled the air cleaner and sprayed some starting fluid in it and it will start. ran it for 10 minutes or so. shut it off and it won''t start. when it was running you couldn't give it gas very fast or it sounded like it was starving for air. you could run the throttle up slowly and it will maintain rpms. but try to stab the throttle and it will almost stall. Thinking it is the fuel pump. the car sat for quite a while in the last year and a half. I think it is the fuel pump. but before I pull the tank and put a new fuel pump in, are there some tests I can do. Everything I have ever had has had a carb on it and that is generally a simple fix. Any suggestions? last time I had the car out it was a 150 mile trip on the freeway and no problems. like I said the car sat for quite a while. bad fuel maybe? I just put some fi cleaner and fresh gas in it. thanks

sat for a year and a half with Ca. gas? yep, I would think you need to flush the fuel system and pour in some of that bad New gas ya'll have in Ca.

Thanks Dwight. I am sure that is most of the problem. Is that your cobra up in the corner. Ours is yellow too. It also came from Alabama, I bought it off of ebay about 4 and a half years ago.
