Default FAST XFI, 427SB, TWM Stacked FI, NO ONE to Tune

I live in OH, and have just about finished my cobra. I'm hoping to finish in time for the London cobra show. Eric at performance engineering (great engine builder) built my motor and put on my EFI. However, I believe I was one of the first customers for this system and definetly for the FAST system. He was unable to tune it at all. It will run (very rough & rich) but he definetly recommended not to drive much at all. I need someone to set up the stack system and the FAST. Can anyone help.

I am not sure of the details of your build but from what you have stated we are at least similar. Here is a path to two of my files a1(ORIGINAL).gct is the original fuel mapping that the engine came with. d1.gct is what I am currently running.

They are located here Index of /rwillia4/Public/XFI

Save them into this folder C:\CComWP XFI\GCT (which is the default FAST folder)

Open your "CComp WP - XFI" program and connect to your FAST XFI

DOWNLOAD AND SAVE your original file

Upload and test the two files to see which works better on your car.

You will love it once you get it dialed in!!!

Default Call Comp cams

Streetsnake Call comp cams and get the FAST guys. Tell them you need a certified Fast guy in Ohio to program the system. DON'T run the car rich!!! You will burn the paint off the body. Yes you can, I melted both sides from adding the stroker and it running way rich. Pipes where red. FAST sells a disc for setup you car and give info on how to get it running to a shop and fine tune. I went to 3 different guys before finding one that knows the old speed-pro system. The problem is every motor wants different timing, pulse width, running at different coolant temps, Try the speed shop in your area that race mustangs and have the XFI system in there cars. Dyno shops are about $145.00 per hour with a min. of 2 hours. Dyno and street driving are not the same but will get your motor about 90% tuned. Rick L. They have a couple of courses for the FI schooling. They list it under comp cams info.

Thanks guys for the info. In regards to the finding a guy. The guy who I took it to in michigan supposedly helped develop the fast system and is supposed to be one of the best tuners, for mustangs that is. he didn't want to mess with the stack system. He is busy enough to pick and chose what he will work on so he didn't want to invest the 10-15 hrs to in getting it right. He couldn't guarentee the result and didn't want to have to have us pay for all of the time invested

I'll call comp cams and see who they would recommend.

In the meantime is there anyone in MI, IN, PA, OH, KY that anyone could recommend?

I'm going to get him a FAST guy on Tuesday. It sounds to me like the factory adjusted linkage was changed, I can walk him through it. Rick, call me. 520-401-9142

RWillia4, Could you give me some of the specifics on your motor, injectors, cam, heads, etc. This way I'll have a better idea if I can download your program for a temp fix.

Al, I'll call you tomorrow when I get to the shop to see if you'll be able to walk me through this.

Also, thanks for the CRT info. Hopefully I can get fully tuned prior to London. Thanks again guys.

I have a 427W stroker from Keith Craft with AFR 225 heads, 55psi injectors, dart block, msd6al, 1-7/8" headers, comp cam

The most important thing is to make sure the O2 sensor is installed and working so the system can make fuel adjustments.

find someone that has a dyno that they can adjust the load... you need a dyno to really dial in a EFI system. If you have a Dyno and some experience you can tune any EFI system... they all work the same way

here is a good class on tuning to get started

http://www.efi101.com/

You can create a base map to get it running... but maximizing power and economy requires a dyno it seems
