Default webers or injection, again!

I feel like I should be getting a little more out of my engine. I know we have discuss Weber's on larger engines and their limited capabilities. I have been seriously looking at TWM and Dynatek for a change. I would love to talk to someone who has made the change or someone who is familiar with either system.

I just don't seem to be pulling as hard as I think I should out of the corners and down the straights. I am running 48IDA's with 40mm chokes. I have 45mm chokes on the shelf. Should I just keep tuning the Weber's or go with the injection? How hard is it to set this stuff up? Any horror stories?

I just need some advice.

Dean Ive heard some stories but I beleive that goes with nearly all HIPO applications I know ther are some pretty sharp guys with ther laptops out ther to get things sorted with an injected engine hope you get things worked out without to many headaches. We had a chance to go with the Webber setup at a local hotrod shop all the carbs manifold and linkage for 1500.I ask if he was for real, said he couldnt getm worked out ,looking back I should have got them and sold them here on CC.O well good luck I know you will get it all worked out...WB3

Dean,

I've have two motors with EFI (see below for some pictures) and I would definitely recommend that you consider the TWM setup. The EFI systems have the advantage of being able to provide a much better tune on any engine combination. A good system, properly installed, will also stay in tune for many years without any fiddling. Its more work and expense to get the EFI setup on the car initially but I think you'll be much happier with the performance and the lack of maintenance in the long run.

482 ci FE Ford from Keith Craft - TWM EFI w/FAST XFI ECU (650, hp 630 ft-lbs of Torque)

Also, EFI has the advantage of being able to make a fairly radical setup quite streetable. The block small block shown below is the first motor that I built with EFI and is a good example of this. This motor is street driven and runs on 93 octane pump gas. It starts and idles like a stocker and made 625 HP on the dyno.

383 Small Block Chevy - Blown and Injected (BigStuff Gen 3 ECU, 625 HP, 600 ft-lbs Torque)

Check out my gallery for some more pictures. For some additional information on these EFI setup, check out the following threads:

Fuel Injection

EFI... that looks like Webers?

Let me know if you have questions on EFI and the TWM system. Best of luck with your project.
