Default TWM Induction Vacuum source advice

Hi guys & gals

I need some advice from those who have fitted TWM induction or those that can help. I have included some photographs to help explain my questions. My manifold has an alloy plate bolted to the underside which I guess acts as a vacuum reservoir. The engine is a SB chevy (whats that hissing sound)

• Can I fit the brake vacuum take off for the servo to the larger take off at the front of the manifold.
• Can I take a vacuum take off to the vacuum gauge by using a tee piece as shown in the photograph or will this affect the sensor.
• Is it OK to plumb the PCV valve to the take off next to the sensor tee piece. I guess any engine fumes will be drawn into the cylinders under vacuum but I wish to check.

Your help would be very much appreciated.

Mike,

If the underside of the intake has a block with lines coming from each intake runner that is is then blacked off in the first picture, then yes you can use it for a vacuum signal.

But who ever you purchased the TWM kit should be able to help you better.

Mikey,

I typically use the plugged hole for the brake booster. I would use it for the pcv if you are going to run it. On the smaller fitting you can run your signal from it. Vacuum gauge? are you going run some type of boost? Why do you need this type of gauge? I don't really like splitting any type of vacuum. Especially the brake booster. This is my .02 worth.

What's wrong with running a vacuum gauge?

It's the second most useful gauge behind a Wideband A/F gauge.

If the area under the top plate is a common plenum for vacuum you can tap into it anywhere you like for accessories like power brakes, map sensor, vacuum gauge, but be wary of PCV plumbing, needs to be central for equal sharing.

Thanks guys

I alredy have a vacuun gauge plumbed into the vehicle. Used it when I was setting up the Barry Grant and I still find it useful for diagnostics.

I gess I will have to ty and drill for the PCV to get it central.
