Default Help with Thruster DFI

Can anybody please help with a couple of questions I have.

I have a Thruster DFI linked to TWM Throttle bodies with an Idle air control (TWM which was fitted to manifold) Starting my engine for the first time the tickover was around 1600 RPM (1400 in Idle table). I reset the Target Idle speed table graph to around 1000 rpm with a gradual drop and this if anything has increased tickover to around 2000 RPM. I have set the TPS points at 0 throttle and Full and the throttle blades are closed.

My second query is that after fitting the distributor (Dual Sync) the timing did not match the actual timing at the balancer. I have dialled in 6 degrees offset in the crank offset which has synchronised the readings, but I don’t understand why I needed to do this. My camshaft is advanced 6 degrees as it’s a bit radical, but I am not sure if this has anything to do with it.
Is there anything obvious I am missing – I really would appreciate your help..

is your iac reading between 5-8?, found at the lower right of target idle speed table?

i don't have the dual sync, but the crank offset is used to adjust ign. timing to coincide with crankshaft position, so spark occurs at correct time. did you force the timing and check for correct reading? depending wether you're using analog or digital spark amplifier there are two wires that can be reversed, on my setup it would be the crank trigger wires, the analog amplifier is correct with retarded timing reading, the digital is correct with advanced, this may not apply to dual sync dist. setup.

the cam sync just tells the efi the rotating assembly is coming up on tdc and to get ready to start the firing/injection sequence again, it is driven off the cam, as in distributor, but has nothing to do with the valve timing events.

I dont have it coupled up at present so I dont know. I do know that in the EFI status table the IAC is showing at 100% on ignition ie start up. I noticed that you can alter the amount of opening in the IAC opening versus ECT table is programmed for 100% - I am guessing that the Target Idle speed does not over rule this table and that I need to reduce the opening in the IAC vs ECT - am I assuming right?

I am using an MSD 6AL, but I followed the wiring instructions from ACCEL so I am now unsure why the timing was that far out as the installation instructions on the dual sync are pretty simple really.

iac reading at idle should be 5-8%, this is at operating temp, you don't want to introduce other tables into the mix.

the target idle speed is coolant temp dependent, the efi will do whatever it takes to meet the idle speed specified at a certain temp.
