Have a BDR with aluminum tank. Recently converted to FI with Fitech unit and their G Surge high psi pump. They require a return fuel line back to fuel tank. Their previous FCC(fuel command center) only required a vent line. That system had a design flaw so I was given this new setup which is similar but requires a full return line to the tank.

I had a vent line that I tee’d into the filler tube(Moroso). Can i or should I use this as my return line? Also my tank currently has a bulkhead near the top that is facing towards the front of the car that has a -06 cap on it. Could/ should I use this instead and use the T on the filler tube for venting?

Currently the fuel system is a closed. So in theory as the fuel is being used it is slowly creating a vacuum.

I think you would be fairly safe utilizing the port in the filler line IF it is low enough on the fill tube so as not to cause splashing up towards the gas cap. You definitely need a return line though. That FI system requires a whole lot (probably over 35lbs. closer to 45lbs.) to operate the high pressure fuel pump correctly. Good luck, I just took an EZ FAST system off by BDR and replaced it with a 750 Holley. I'm not too much into the "tech" aspect of ecu's and programming but I can tune a Holley. Good Luck!
