Check this out. I haven't yet spoken with an Aviva broker to confirm if they'll cover Cobra replicas. It would be nice if they did, as Hagerty has a good reputation in the U.S.

Well, I've been in touch with Hagerty and with a couple of the brokers in Ontario and the news isn't good for Cobras.

While Hagerty will cover high-end ($65K or more) Cobra replicas in the U.S., they are specifically excluding them from their collector car insurance program in Canada.

Click here and you'll see that 1963-67 Cobra replicas are not eligible.

This sucks! It would've been nice to have an alternative insurance provider, as the choices here in Ontario are very limited.

My local broker (Saskatchewan) sells Hagerty and was keen to get my Cobra covered by them. When he checked, however, he was told they don't cover 'kit cars'. That was a few years ago, but if it has changed I'd certainly be interested in getting a quote from them.
