So we had a nice earthquake today in Ottawa which measured 5.0 on the Richter scale and lasted a good 30 seconds or so.
Admittedly this isn't such a large earthquake, as compared with other parts of the world, but it's pretty big by local standards. Apparently the quake was felt as far away as Windsor and parts of the northeastern U.S.
Not much interesting ever happens in Ottawa, so this seems particularly worthy of mention.
I've experienced several earthquakes before, including three small ones since I've lived in Ottawa and a couple of medium-sized quakes when I was in Tokyo on business. How about you guys (ground-shaking Cobra engines, notwithstanding)?

It was far reaching...people could see the blinds moving in the taller building in Fredericton New Brunswick.

We felt it in Waterloo, very strange sensation. Would not want to live anywhere where it was a regular occurrence !

It looks like we just had another earthquake in Ottawa.
I was sitting at my desk and the whole building started to shake, just a few minutes before 10am.
