Well, for approximately the last 30 yrs I have lusted after having a Cobra replica and now i am getting very close. I decided to sell off my C6 Corvette and get my dream car. I was a little discouraged as of late after learning it isn't as simple as buying the right car and bringing it back to enjoy. The 15 yr rule put a serious damper on my plans. It appears my only real option for new is the FFR one. I am looking for a big block car and the goal is to make it look very close to this.

I'm going to be working with a $50k budget and I am not sure how realistic this is. I would like to tackle a build myself but I just know it will take me too long to accomplish with family and work taking up almost all my time. Is there somewhere that does a premium job of assembly here in Canada? I originally found a Superformance and a BDR option that was perfect, budget wise, and I hear lots of good things about them. Not sure how the 15 yr old cars are however and there doesnt seem to be a lot of them around. I have given myself some time to track one down as I cant do anything around here until spring anyways. The bad part of living in Northern Alberta.

So to sum up, are the older cars quality or should i go with a newer FFR option if the dollars work? Anyone here run into the same problem?

Hi Brian B.,

Welcome to Club Cobra. I think you are on the same road I travelled a couple years ago. My search ended with me buying a Cobra replica that suited me perfectly. I'll send you a PM with some more info.

P.S. The car is that photo is CSX2557 which is a 289 competition car, not a big block. But I'm guessing what you meant is that you want a big block car in blue w/white stripes, nice and racey looking. :-)
