Offset Body?

All,
I just picked up a used (MKII) Everett Morrison and noticed the body is offset to the drivers side. Looks like it hangs over almost 1" leaving the passenger side exposed. Not a big deal but was a little surprised. All the body mounts and alignment is perfect. The actual mold is just off from one side to the other.
Anyone else notice this? Or know why?
Thanks!
Mike

I centered mine with the axles so the wheels fit the wheel wells. The body mounts were then drilled. I have not noticed any offsets.
Good luck with replies-EM cars are getting scarce. EM has been pretty quiet lately since their move to TX.

I used the fender lip and tire sidewall to center the body on the frame. When I got it on the road the inner driver side rear tire rubbed on the inner fender when I hit bumps. Since I'm not that fat, I would guess that the inner tub may not be centered on the outer shell. In my case the body may be offset toward the passenger side. This may be a quality control issue when they bond the parts together. A little grinding and shimming and the problem was solved.

I have Just bought a Everett Morrison used kit cobra and the body is center on it. It is just the frame, body and a few little parts so if anyone knows a good place to get parts, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ben.

look at the EM website, I was just there last week for a shop visit. Tom will help you out with any of your needs, they have a lot of parts.

I built my EM in 1998. It was one of the last prior to Julie buying the company and moving it to TX. My body is centered now but I had the same tire rub on the inner side of the drivers side wheel well as Jon Miller. I also had a hard time getting the drivers side trailing arm to line up at installation. The reason is that my differential mount was welded slightly off center toward the passenger side. The trailing arms are the same length so my left rear tire actually tracks with a little toe in (have the parts to make new ones, no time right now). I happen to talk to Julie after she bought the company and she mentioned the jigs were a mess when she got them.
