Finally...an update!
Advice paths led me to Bob Lacey of Vintage Wheels, wealth of knowledge on my early model. MII front is too wide for early body. Hard gaining backspace with front space for Cobra look & spinner.
Bob’s providing 1” shortened upper/lower control arms. Also, QA1 coilovers, Wilwood hubs/brakes for existing 15” wheels & new tie rod ends. I removed front suspension, very straightforward. Saving 50 lbs up front!!
Mobile painter to recoat front well metal/undercoat. Mixing body color for spot repairs. Good news, tire rub only affected undercoat. Black on outer lip was rubber, came off easily, not worn paint as feared.
Re-assembly will take a while. Every step has new learning/decisions. Brake bleed will be fun w/my MC setup and rear! My Jag IRS needs a remote speed bleed kit, found overseas so far.
Thanks for all replies leading to this point, and Bob for perspective gained from his craft dedication.
More to come…(likely in a mere matter of mo’s!)
