I drove the car as I bought it for about two years while I learned a little about autocross. During that time, I broke the engine twice and changed the clutch three times (I hate McLeod HTOBs!). Every engine failure gave me an excuse to upgrade to what I have today - a 410 ci engine with racing cam, hydraulic roller lifters, Victor Jr. heads, Edelbrock intake, Holley racing carb and Accusump. Finally, over the winter of 2004-5, I did a body off restoration complete with a new paint job and a proper interior. I also used that time to lower the CG, balance the corner weights, replace all the fuel lines, rewire the car and install adjustable shocks.

I've driven the car on several road courses including Roebling Road and the Talladega Grand Prix. I got it up to 140 MPH on the front straight at Roebling before aero drag got the best of me. Every track day event reminds me that the car has far more capability than I do. I've spun it at least two dozen times and had a ball doing it. As you've no doubt guessed by now, this is not a show car. I drive it whenever the weather allows and go to a lot of cruise-in events. My favorite thing at a cruise-in is to let the occasional well mannered kid sit in it. I take it to the track when I can afford tires and racing gas, but that occurs less often these days.
That's more than enough for now. I'm glad to be here.

Welcome to the EM club Tommy. From the sounds of it you're a bonifide member. It seems like you really "Enjoy" your car... and that's what it's all about.

Hey JTP1, leeines is a member of this group and posted the last post on the first page of this thread. He is looking for a project or complete EM. He would like the exteneded footbox version (around 93 in. wheelbase). Good Luck.
