I think it would be nice to have the NAF owners here and tell everyone about our cars. Often there is someone asking about NAF cars, what happened to them and how well the cars have lasted.

Count me in...

1988 427 NAF, factory built w/ 289 FIA rollbar, 8 inch rear w/ 4 link and panhard bar w/ drums, Mustang II front w/ discs, and hydroboost PB from a one-ton Dodge. Built for a young man from PA (his mother paid).

Purchased it 5 years ago w/ 6k miles and decided to rebuild the engine b/c none of the past 4 owners changed the oil (filter had an interference fit w/ frame rail).

Built a 331 w/ stock FMS J302 AL heads, Comp Cams hyd roller, Milodon AL water pump, Melling HV oil pump, Canton pan, Mallory ignition, repro Cobra intake, Holley 650 DP, Hooker Comp headers and sidepipes. Engine made 397 TQ @ 4600 and 380 HP @ 5900 w/o carb tuning. Small input toploader w/ 3.55 rear gears.

The car drives well, considering the OEM Mustang II front. Nothing wrong w/ it, it works, but it's too wide and NAF's installation workmanship was poor. However, it's real problem is that the 295 rears push the 205 fronts around -- but larger front tires are problematic.

I have a N.A.F. that I got in 1989 as a body and a frame and have been collecting parts and working on when time allows. I have narrowed tubular upper and lower control arms and a heits tubular strut arms. Adding X bracing to the front crossmember to stiffen it up. Modifying the rear frame to use a Satchell link setup, and to get it to sit lower with a 9" ford. Have coilovers and 11" discs front and rear. 351 Cleveland with tko3550. Plan on manual steering. Have moved the windshield and rollbar forward to fit an original soft top and side curtains. Not sure of the Manufacture on the wheels but they look like bolt on trigos with mickey thompson tires. Building headers and fuel tank for it now.....
