Does anyone know the origin of these parts?

I discovered the interior handle mechanism is from a mid 90s Mustang but, I can't seem to find anything resembling the latch and striker plate.

I seem to recall seeing the latches on a Cobra supplier website somewhere on the internet but unfortunately I don't remember where. I didn't even know what the interior handle mechanism was from but now I do, thanks!

Maybe you should post your question on the forum itself and see what kind of replies you get, maybe include a picture of the latch & striker plate. I would put RUCC somewhere in the title of the post hopefully to get the attention of an RUCC owner. I say this only because it seems like not many RUCC folks check our forum.

In the meantime, I'll see what I can find out.

Thanks Jug,

I discovered the interior handle piece purely by accident while trying to find a bezel to replace a broken one. I saw the bezel on eBay and the description said it fit mid 90s Mustangs (and more) then I verified that information with the original builder of the car, who had to replace the driver side handle. All he knows about the latch and striker plate is that they came with the kit.

The latch and door strike are the same as what is on the West Coast Cobra. Roger always liked the safty that West Coast built into their cars. Take a look at their chasis and compair it to ours. Note the double bars in the door. I'll poke around and see if I can find them on the web. They are an industrial type latch.

Latches are a "Safety Slam Lock System". The one I found is Supplied by International Hardware Inc. It seems to be the same size as ours. Web site is www.ihinc.com. Part number 206-U R&L Safety Slam Lock System. I could not find another supplier.

To let everyone know; the latch and striker can be purchased separately. The striker is $19.95. I din't inquire regarding the latch.
