KSC- Cobra

Guys,

I'm trying to decided whether to go with a carburator on my small block Ford or electronic fuel injection. I have an 87' Mustang with factory EFI that sometimes doesn't get driven for months at a time, but it cranks up within seconds every time I need it. I have a 65' Mustang (original one barrel) that never starts if it sits more than a month. Carbs are cheaper, but less reliable and more troublesome especially with today's gas. EFI idles better, runs smoother, gets better gas mileage, is more reliable, but cost a lot more. What did you go with and how do you like it?

Always been into carbs it's all we had when I was learning to work on vehicles.Was taught by some of the best in the business.Even today with the advancements in electronics and it's reliablity still prefer carbs.
My reasons are can mainly because I know carbs,love the sound of a carbed motor idling compared to EFI,truly enjoy the rush when getting into the secondaries of a double pumper version (the only type I run),love the look of the carb and the uncluttered look.
Have to say have noticed some of the latest EFI available especially the FAST system with 4 barrel TBI.Good Luck

Yes and it is beautiful.Once looked into the Webbers for my car was talked out of it because of the tuning hassle.

I went with the dual edlebrocks out of the box AF ratio was 15.0 thru most of the rpm range-no real start up issues. I think people looking the cars like the stacked webber look best- then duals then single carbs then fuel injection- But drivers and mechanics understand the truth- Guess the question is all about your likes!!

Have to say beastly nothing says horsepower like dual quads and your right on when it comes to individual preference.We all have our own needs to satisfy,before I ever considered Webers it was dual quads,but hood scoop clearance with air cleaner and other things turned me toward single quad.Had a 1000cfm dbl pmp custom built for my car it looks good and works great.

I do have an extra 302 efi edlebrock intake with rails if you need one.
