Hello.
I have seen a couple posts on here from other members that have modified the foot area to gain more room. I am interested in knowing if there are more. I would like to put a top loader in my SB when the time comes. It would seem like it would be relatively easy to narrow the tunnel area around transmission to gain more room.

I too have thought of narrowing mine a few times there is plenty of room. But been driving it now for so many years have gotten used to it.
I have a complete rebuilt top loader with correct Hurst Competition Plus shifter and linkage installed and adjusted. It takes the Mustang shifter. If curious let me know.

Hi Mike, yes I am interested. However, I am very early into my build. My two major roadblocks: time & money. My ideas kept changing but I have settled with the 460 that my dad picked up. It currently has a C6 and I would rather go with a top loader or a T56. I need to go through and itemize what I have. I know that he bought the pedal assembly and I think it was from a Mustang II for an automatic. I will search your posts to see what you have done. Thanks

I have modified my foot box. It was very easy and well worth the effort to me.. take a look at some of my posts...I simple terms I moved pedals 3 inches inward.... I was surprised how much difference this made in comfort...only 3 cuts and some fiberglass...but I am running the tremec and a 351w

I really apologize for not answering......life got in my way.....in the last few months I retired from the AF....I am using stock hanging mustang pedal assembly from a 80s mustang.....Beastly
