Hey guys.. I have been in incognito for some time now. I am back working on my Streetbeast and was curious on what type of material you guys are using to shim up the body to frame, just in front of the rear wheel wells. I am measuring a .75 gap and I have these urethane bushings that I cut and seem to fit ok but am concerned about these bushings crushing down as the body is being bolted down at the door striker bracket. Would steel bushings be better? Any pictures of what you have done?

I didn't fill the gaps in front of the wheels but I had about a 1/2" gap under the back edge of the trunk floor (between the
floor and frame) I cut a couple pieces of nylon block, counter sunk screw holes and tapped the frame. I figured the fiberglass could slide during any vibration and it wouldn't crush.I then riveted the floor to the frame forward of the nylon. Hope this helps. Don.

I am trying to visualize where are talking. When you say trunk floor, are you referring to the section above the fuel tank?

Where trunk floor sits on top of frame. Frame angle didn't match angle of trunk floor so I cut nylon wedges to sit on top of frame so bottom it trunk was supported.

hi everyone have been doing a lot of listening over the last few years i'm finally trying to finish my streetbeast that i have had about 12 years i cut the floor about 1/2 of an inch out on each side of the frame rail from the front of the trunk back to about 3 inches from the rear where the end of the frame crosse's and i cut up on the front wall over the the rail's about an inch on each rail enough to allow room for the body to settle down and a did the same on the sheaf behind the seats then i glassed if together top and bottom also had be trim the plate that was glassed in for the trunk latch because it was to far forward i think it let the body set on the frame a lot better and like always with streetbeast it is alot of work hope this helps and thank god for spell check Ron Johnson

finally figured out how to post more picture's you can see where i cut the body to let it set better on the frame also had to cut the package shelve behind the seats 3 inches' on each side after i finished and reglassed it all it sat great on the frame

Hi Ron, thanks for your experiences with cutting. I will have to take a look at that option. I've seen where some people actually cut the frame and change the angle of the last section of frame where the tank sits. Not sure if I like that idea.
