Anyone know where I can get wiper blades or what vehicle Classic sourced the wiper arms from? I've been to the local parts store but w/o the make, year, model, vin # and color they're worthless. I looked at another CMC recently and it has exact same arms and his blades are falling apart. He's second owner so he doesn't know where to source them either. My wiper motor assy. is a Specialty power windows unit. I called them tonite and sent them pics and they basically said "nope not ours"! Blades on other owners car said Trico, made in England. MG, Lotus,? Any clue?

Hello DonB, It seems that you don't have any wiper arms or blades, so you'll need to buy a set to fit your application. I have arms that are too long but the blades are OK. The stock MGB wiper arms with 10" blades are 16 1/2" long. From my 1/2" fine spline knurls to the inner edge of the chrome windshield frame (at the top of the windshield) is 15 3/4" long. So, I can"t use them. Adjustable length arms are needed for me. OK, there are things to determine: wheel box knurls or 1/4" dia shafts and narrow or wide arm shafts 5mm or 7mm. 1969 and earlier= 5mm/ 1970 and later= 7mm. Also 10" blades or 12" blades. With adjustable length arms I think that the 12" blades will wipe more of the windshield. Two sources: 1. ebay (lucas style adjustable wiper arms for MGB MGC roadsters 1963-68). 2. In UK, RimmerBros.com (adjustable wiper arms for MG's). Because I have 5mm arms and the 5mm 10" long blades, I'm looking at their #37H4952 arms. Hope this helps. Harry

A friend who owns a lot of British cars suggested Moss motors in USA and https:http://www.vintagecarparts.co.uk/par...ex/wiper-blade. I haven't got to check them closely yet but maybe it'll be a source or two. The blade I was given is a Trico and its 9" long. And thanks!

The ebay wiper arms appear to be for a RHD MG application. The end of the arm is angled the wrong way. Their description did not say anything about that.

Hello DonB,
CMC assembly manual calls for 1969 or newer MGB windshield wiper installation. I had found (long ago) a wrecked MGB Roadster Left Hand Drive car with the three wiper system. These wipers park to the passenger side. So, looking at the top side of the wiper arm, I need to look for adjustable length wiper arms that bend to the left. This allows the wiper blades to park in the horizontal position. I think that you'll need to verify the park and rotation direction that your Specialty Power wiper system uses before figuring out the wiper arms and blades. Just saying. Harry

Harry, I've installed my wiper away and its adjustable for degrees of sweep. The wiper arms are what they call wrist action. The tips pivot so they can park flat against bottom of windshield. I was put in touch with another CMC owner and he had Trico 9" blades marked made in England. Just not sure what they were used on originally. Auto parts stores always ask " what year and make and model car is it off"? I couldn't find anything that short on Trico website.

After typing 'Who in England made 9 inch wiper blades for Trico', two Ebay sellers in New Jersey advertise them. From Fanwood NJ. (sweetventidk1989) ‘NOS’ Trico Wipers Blades.....Made in England.....9 inch....1972-73 MG Midget. From Montville NJ. (old.parts) 'NOS' Trico 9 inch 1968-74 MG Midget. The seller in Fanwood appears to be away till Oct 10th. You might try to contact them, they may be of help. Or, you might go to the auto parts store and ask about MG Midget blades.

Found a source for wiper blades! I have a friend who owns multiple British sports cars. He gave me a Moss motors catalog. They carry parts for all sorts of cars and were very helpful. We determined that the blades needed matched MG midget 69-74. Hope that helps anyone who's in need of new blades. Price was $11
