my rear sway bar hits the dif cover

Did anyone use the 8.8 rear differential? I did and have a Ford dif cover/girdle. A friend pushed up and down on the frame and if he pushed far enough the sway bar hits the cover. Any suggestions? I did try changing the top and bottom control arms so I could center the rear end and adjust the pinion angle but it still touches the cover when the suspension compresses.

I noticed mine has taken the paint off the cover, but it does not appear to be impacting enough for damage. I'm guessing if there is no sign of impact I'll be ok.

Did anybody use a Ford 9" for their rear diff? And if you did, what sway bars did you use?

Narrowed 9" with mustang sway bar on custom made adjustable chrome-moly suspension struts.
If your using the stock mustang stamped struts drill another hole in each strut and move the bar back using bar stock as a spacer to fill the gap.

I thought about moving the bar back or down slightly but I'm using tubular adjustable (powder-coated) control arms that have a welded on flange for the sway bar to bolt to.

Thats presents a problem for sure.It is either pull the control arms add the extra tab materiel or go with an aftermarket bar.FYI If you do not want to go through the powdercoat process John Deere has three shades of black paint that is almost as tough as powdercoat.It is all I use for chassis and motorcycle frame coatings.
