I sat the roll bar in place,without the body on and with the seat sitting on the floor no spacers just tracks?. The roll bar is 2-3 inches below head level. Anyone raise theirs? I know that if I extend the front mounts it will raise the height but then the rear leg won't line up with the shock mount. Any suggestions? Did any one else modify the roll bar height? I hate to mess up the supplied bar as it's chromed and my welds probably wouldn't be as nice.

Honestly bet everyone did.What changed my mind was the top,raise it forget about putting a top on the car.My other thoughts were if the car ever went over the windshield frame is no protection whatsoever.Drawing a line between the top of the bar and say the tops of the front fenders makes for a bad angle to protect the head even with a raised bar.My observation only we all have different needs.
The bar can still be raised using original mounts modified with some thought and not hurt the chrome that will be visable.Good Luck

Here is how we set it up. We manufactured a raised shock tower on the driver side as you can see in the picture. We purchased a very short roll bar and then extended it about 6-8 inches in order to be above head height when sitting in the drivers seat.

Looks great. The shock tower mod is very similiar to what we did to catch the third leg. But since I am short I did not need to raise anything. These cars were built for a 5'5" driver.

So the top becomes the secondary issue, huh? I guess that the bars current height will make for a convienent grab bar to get in and out with
As I' m learning each change makes for 2-3 changes down the road. Thanks for the pics.
One other thing where did you get your sidepipes (in the picture)? I'm using a set off a Superformance cobra and I'm attempting to build the headers myself. Thanks, Don

These sidepipes are from a superformance as well. We just finished building the headers. Much cheaper building them yourself, but if you want someone else to do it stainless headers in Fargo, ND can do it for $900 ish.
