Hi guys, been a while since I've checked in. Had to do the top end due to two broken rocker shafts and some bent push rods, and 5000 miles later, shes torn down again, rings were wandering and I dropped an intake valve. This time Im going to take the 428CJ heads to a specialist and Im sitting here thinking about just pulling the side oiler and the Richmond and rebuilding both...nothing hurts more then knowing there's more HP lurking under the hood and you're being denied...time to relocate the reservoirs too, since the headers basically boil the fluid every time the sun comes out. Hi guys as Jay says It's been awhile since I have checked it..my car is a Unique 427 that has been sitting in the barn for about 10 years..I bought it back in the 90's as a used one from an outfit in Denver... I got excited about it because it has a good drivetrain..a real 67 SO and top loader with the big shaft.. and of course the Jag 331 Rear...I kept it out at my brothers in Leonard tX as it was the most fun out there on the ccountry roads... and I had never licensed it because of funds and hassel.. and then around 2000 I develope oil pressure problems as the press would drop real fast between shifts.. It was a fun little car except no clearance on the oil pan so U really had to watch where you were.. so I quit driving it and let it sit up there in the barn.Big Mistake --.Oh and yeah I got a set of dual quads I was going to put on it and it had the old Fireball Robert cam in it from Walt Haynes up in Evergreen Co whom built the car in or around 92-93?..

..So long story short I finally got the motor out and up to Wanyne Clavert in Denton and he went thru it and found out the cam bearings which is a major oil route for a Sideoiler were loose and causing the pressure to drop and it was a good thing I quit driving it but I sure screwed up letting it sit in the barn for so long.. Soo I put it back to stock with the old Ford cam and Calvert dynoed it at 400 HP with the stock cam .. I really made a mistake there and I am sure there are much better cams oout there.. when I got to put it back it the engine would not go all the way down in the mounts and it's still a problem --I am using big washer, but it does give me another inch of road clearance .

..my Cobra T type oli pan and lakewood SShield are less than 5" from the ground and this is with me raising the frount end with the adjustable coil overs from Unique..but the frount end is too high and the rear too low .. for some reason the rt rear is an inch lower than the left and will rub if I have a hefty psgr. ANY OF U GUYS HAVE THIS PROBLEM..??
I justt wanted to say Howdy to some Unique owners .. Allen has been very responsive and I too think they are good people.. as I bought this car used in Co.. and the original owner was "James Dean"" if U all can believe that.. I still need horns and jEmergency barke to lic in TX -- Had to go to a new al radiator and still need a puller fan as the old set up was the brass and copper deal with a fan out frount which I don't like..

. I leave my brother and never turn it on and go for a 40 mph ride out in East TX on Hwy 11 , 272 Celest and Wolf city.. fun roads..and never turn the fan on till I get back to the driveway.. it runs 175 or so actually a little cool..oil temp is never over 175,, even in this weather we 're having in Tx right now..but if I idle it in 1st it will start climbing and I don't know where it will stop.I have idled for a mile or so at 15 mph and seen it go to 210(it was a hot day) ..so That's why I think I need a puller fan if I want to operate it in town and go to events etc... any help on a good puller fan would be appreciated too.. Thanks for listening.. appreciate any help..

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. I sold my 289 and so I have been out of the loop.

I'm in the process of buying another Unique so hopefully I'll have more to report on.

Hi Again Everyone!

This is my third Unique and the first one that I can actually drive more than a few miles from my house without fear of the weather turning bad. Here in Indiana it can be beautiful one moment and then storm or snow the next. This one has a fantastic fitting top and side windows and a Vintage Air heater. I can't wait to get back into "talking Cobra's" again.
