Hello WCC owners:
just purchased these hood struts from Vern to replace the bent a single side hood probe installed when built. This is attached to the hood via riveted receiving end to the hood inner rib. The two new struts (see picture with mounting hardware) I am wrecking my brain on how to attach these to the hood. I have no issues with the engine bay end, those are through the wall no problem. But how do I attach these to the present hood inner rib lip, the holes are there but not much room to play. Feel very nervous to try to drill and tap the embeded metal strip inside.
I have been suggested to use "jack nuts"but the smallest one is too long. Also rib nuts but don"t know what they look like. Does anyone have a clue on how to do this? Sometimes the smallest detail becomes a federal project
