Hey there,
I recently purchased a 2007 WCC and noticed that the steering is a little sloppy...meaning that there is a lot of play in the steering wheel. Have any of you encountered that on yours? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Other that than it is tons of fun.
Thanks,
Yvan

Hi Yvan:
Is the car new, or how many owners? perhaps the steering wheel box is rebuilt and depending on the use these get loose. Start with that. I have a 1984 circa WCC and the steering wheel is as solid as new.
You might want to call Vern at WCC for more advise, be patient with his phone answering and his emails, he takes his time.
I hope this helps

Gents,
I replaced all the components of my steering linkage. There was slop in the components I got from the kit. Borgeson makes all Stainless Steel. I also replaced the pillow block with a tie rod end bolted to the frame with a reinforcement 3/16 thick steel block cut to fit the frame piece and bolted with the old pillow block mount holes. I had to prep with wood dowels for sizing and angles before I purchased the rods. The clearance between the frame and headers is very close. It works Great. I'll supply photos later. If you use the racing steering components you'll always have the play in the steering from that regardless how tight your rack and pinion unit is.

I'll post some pics soon. I'm working on getting the front end completed and installing my gas tank still... Your problem may very well be the worn out Ford column if it's a tilt wheel. Perry (ex WCC Dealer) told me a story that he built a car for Vern and when the customer test drove it he nearly wrecked it because the tilt wheel from the junk yard was worn so badly. I tossed the old column and used an IDIDIT chrome column with no tilt. I'm partial to the look of the vintage dash. The WCC/Kellison uses the plastic cover which detracts from the appearance. While my column is not stock AC, it works well by moving the steering wheel back to me in the drivers seat as it gives me more knee room.
