Lou, here are the two styles of pumps. Saginaw on left, Ford style on right.
the issue is the saginaw puts out north of 1000 psi pressure to the rack.
but the mustang II rack works on approx 450 psi. so the steering on the highway gets twitchy, most of the time it can be alleviated with a restriction orifice installed into the pressure side of the pump on the Saginaws. in my case it was just more prudent to change to the pinto pump which already puts out the correct line pressure and fit my bracket better.
